Contoure Microwave Door Latch
------------------------------------- I have a Contoure Microwave that the door when closed will not open with the pushin lever. After I jiggle the door it opens. I have removed the enclosure and found that the lifting mechanism will not lift the top hook high enough to pass the lock. I cannot bend down the lock because of the plastic micro-switch is right up against the lock. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ##-----------------------------------------------## Delivered via http://www.thestuccocompany.com/ Building Construction and Maintenance Forum Web and RSS access to your favorite newsgroup - alt.home.repair - 368960 messages and counting! ##-----------------------------------------------## |

Contoure Microwave Door Latch
The Stucco site is not a help forum, it's an *advertising* forum that invades real forums (like "alt.home.repair", part of "usenet") parasitically in order to generate free advertising for itself, which continually advances its search engine placement, thereby increasing its own revenue through its click- through advertising commissions. So the first thing you should do is write them an email and tell them to go **** themselves. Then try to find your way here through proper channels. Please do a google search on "Usenet" and post the regular way. -- Christopher A. Young Learn more about Jesus www.lds.org .. Contoure Microwave Door Latch
On my personal microwave, the lower hinge settled a bit. I
have learned to push the open button, and with the other couple fingers, pull out on the bottom of the door. I fixed a similar problem for some friends, by pushing a wire around the bottom of the lower hinge, to raise up the door. It was a one of a kind fix, and I doubt I could describe it here, with any accuracy. -- Christopher A. Young Learn more about Jesus www.lds.org .. "Kojaq" wrote in message ... I sense you'll be fine.
Very likely, the lower hinge has a flat nylon washer that compressed, and the door is dragging along the bottom edge of the latch. You may have to dissemble the unit, and put a spacer washer under the door, at the lower hinge. -- Christopher A. Young Learn more about Jesus www.lds.org .. "kojaq" wrote in message ... Contoure Microwave Door Latch (and copied text)
Oh, I'm sorry. I did rewrite it a bit. If it's not different
enough from your text, I'll change it some more. As to the Jesus Clip, maybe an E-clip would help space the door up a bit. If that's the problem, that is. -- Christopher A.
