Stove burner help
My gf has a stove with 4 burners.
Its an old stove. 2 of the burners do not work well, when you turn it on some parts of the circle do not get lit. Perhaps the holes are clogged or something? I know in my house, occasionally one or two holes do not light, so I just blow on it and half the flames get blown out for a split second, but then (when theres no more wind) its all lit. But this doesnt work on her stove, so what could be the problem, and whats the solution? Thanks |

Lift off the grate, take out the burner (if removable, as most gas burners are these days). Soak the burner in hot dish detergent/water for a while, then scrub off all the grime. Use a bent paperclip or other wire to poke through the holes and any grooves to clean them out. |

The solution is cleaning, regardless of type, or replacement. I just bought 4 of the removable types for a stove I got with no burners. About $50 total, plus the new stove at $200. greg |

Stove burner help
Sometimes you can lift up the top of the range. Lift the
burners up and out. Put the burners in a laundry sink or somplace that doesn't mind some dirt. Soak em good with overn cleaner spray with sodium hydroxide. Rinse em off with hot water, and scrub them with a nylon brush. You may have to heat em up good with hot water, spray the oven cleaner on, and wait two or three minutes (use a clock, not just guess). Sometimes, takes several cleanings. -- Christopher A. Young Learn more about Jesus www.lds.org .. "Tony T" wrote in message ... My gf has a stove with 4 burners.
