Garage is under family room. Only finished wall is in the back and
other side is the basement. There has always been a minor water
problem from the garage to the basement in the winter when snow melted
from the cars. It would leak under the finished wall via approx 1/4
to 1/2" gap between bottom of wall and basement/garage floor. Never
an issue until this year with the now finished basement and tile and
rug now on the other side of the wall.

Looking for an easy fix, something like plastic moulding maybe (???)
that could possibly be glued to the wall and floor. Any good and
easy ideas?

Why not simply caulk the gap with a good quality neutral color
sealant? Keep a mop and squeegee bucket handy for days when there is
heavy snowfall. Once you're sure the leakage is under control, put
down some vinyl trim with more sealant if cosmetics are important. HTH

The longest lasting fix might be to grind the surface of the garage
floor a bit out from the wall, form it up, and pour a curb. The
grinding is just to rough up the surface so the curb binds a little
better. Of course, this could be an issue if there is an entrance into
the basement that the curb would cause a problem with.

You could also cut a trench and direct the water into a sump hole and
use a pump to get rid of it.

I guess it's too late now to bring up the fact that the garage floor
should have be graded the opposite way so water ran out of garage,
instead of into it.

By code an attached garage should have a concrete curb against all
walls that adjoin the house, the water could just as easily be
gasoline and this is the reason for that code. These curbs are
usually 6 inches high and 1 foot deep but they can be smaller and are
supposed to be poured with the floor when the house was built. I
would look at bringing the garage up to code by having a curb
installed.
