It seems to me a couple years ago I saw fiberglass batt insulation for
sale where the batts (or maybe it was rolls) were completely wrapped
in plastic, to cut down on the fibers getting everywhere. I didn't buy
any then, but now I would like to. I have looked at a couple local
big box stores recently but have not been able to find it. Did they
stop making the stuff? Anyone seen it in stores? What exactly is the

The Owens Corning product is called "PinkPlus" tm and is sold at the local
Lowes store.

Since I hate insulation, I was tempted to use it on my last project until I
realized that most of my runs would need to be sliced in order to
accommodate not OC rafter spacing.

Thanks. At least now I know what to ask for. My situation is that
the attic is all floored over, with about 2 to 4 inches of rock wool
under the boards. (There's only 5.5 inches of space under them
anyway.) I figured I would just put fiberglass on top of the boards,
except in the areas I use for storage. For a number of reasons I
don't want to use the blow-in stuff. Also for a number of reasons I'd
prefer to have the fiberglass be contained. -- H

Update - at Menards I found Johns-Manville "Comforttherm" - that is
what I was thinking of. It is wrapped in thin perforated plastic so
there is no vapor barrier but the fibers are basically contained.
It's a little pricey but worth it in my view. I am a little
disappointed at the uneven quality of the rolls - some seem to fluff
up to the advertised thickness right away, others still haven't after
a few days. -- H
