I have been an electrician for 30 years working in all aspects of the
electrical industry. Most of us (electricians and contractors) are
honest, have integrity, and are dedicated to the safety of our
customers. I have concerns because of the troubling economic
atmosphere, that a percentage of the population across this fine
country will decide to take a cheaper route having home repairs done
by hiring low skilled or non licensed contractors. This is not only
illegal in most states, but not smart in all. The best bet for hiring
any contractor is: 1) Know exactly what you want and/or need done. 2)
Get three bids (at least). 3) Go with your gut feeling on the price
AND the contractor. Sometimes the lowest price isn't the best deal. 4)
Before the work starts, check licensing and references. 5) never
finish payment until the work has been completed as agreed upon by
both parties. Good luck and go safe with a licensed contractor.
