I'd say 'good marketing'. The folks who buy it probably aren't the
same folks who buy a Dremel for one of the million other uses they
have. But once there is one in the house, and they've used it to
do something constructive- those customers become prospective
customers for the bigger, more powerful Dremel.

It's $30 including shipping on Amazon. About the same as a 100
pound pumpkin that won't last until thanksgiving.

Carved pumpkins are a Halloween thing. Unless one intends to use it to
carve a Turkey.
In any event, the regular Dremel Cordless drill will do the same and
have many other uses as well.
