We have an Ingersol Rand that can handle 1200 cfm. We run air 16 to 24 hours a day constant use. Unless you have a good sized shop, refrigerated units are expensive to buy and operate. The thermal mass is kept cold all the time so for a weekender it is kind of silly to do that. |

We do have a couple of rather spendy machining centers, and the water in the air will sooner or later destroy the spindles. |

We get very dry air and it has eliminated a lot of gumming up of pneumatic cylinders. |
