Default Removing Masonite Siding ??

Anyone have any luck removing a section of masonite siding without destroying the overlapping piece above it???? When I try to pry out the nails they just pull through and I mess up the piece above trying to get them out.

Treat it like asphalt roof shingle?

Get a hacksaw blade, or a saws all up under the overlaping seam
between the
two pieces and cut odd the nail heads?
