I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for a solution to
organizing yard tools and stuff in your garage? I know a guy who
started selling these peg board style hook rails for garages and I am
not sure but they seem to be pretty darn good.

this to other solutions to see if it makes sense to buy a couple of
these from him or if there is something better out there?

I made two rails from pine 2x4s to span across the entire garage wall.
I laid the two rails onto the garage floor and laid all the tools on
these rails, re-arranging them until I got them just right. Then I
marked the places to drill holes where I glued 1" dowels, 6" long.
Most tools (shovels, rakes, hoe, pick ax, etc) will need two dowels. I
drilled the holes so that the dowel are 4-degrees up from the
horizontal. On the bottom rail, I fastened metal clips to secure the
handles in place. Fasten the rails with 3.5" deck screws into stud
locations. Two dowels can hold more than one tool, if needed. This
method is very inexpensive and easy. The job goes fast if you have a
drill press and spade bit.

Yeah.. I currently have a two by four thing up with some of those
plastic things from the hardware store mounted to them but it seems
like I am always adding something different and / or loosing something
so then I end up with a bunch of pegs that dont' match what I have.

I think I am going to buy some of those things from Scott because you
can move the hooks around at will and the holes are actually made so
that you can tap them if you want to screw something in to hold
something really heavy. Thanks for your imput.. that other guy wasn't
too nice..
