Remove Agitator Whirlpool style Top Loader
Hello,
I've removed the cap from the top of the agitator (no comfort dispenser) and can access the bolt, but when i try and loosen it, it just spins anticlockwise with a slight grinding noise. Basically i can't get a purchase on the bolt to remove it, as it seems to be spinning independent of the upper and lower agitator parts. However, when the machine is in wash mode, i can observe the agitator bolt performing the slow clockwise (agitation) motion but it isn't moving the upper agitator and so the clothes are just sitting in standing water. Any idea how i can get this sucker off? I'm pretty certain i have to replace the clutch dog ears and maybe the cam but i don't know how to get the agitator off without resorting to turning the washer upside down and getting at it from the bottom of the drum...any ideas? Cheers, col |
