Default dish washer part?

Found this in dish washer
http://home.alltel.net/gno52/Photo 12.jpg
the pin is 1 5/8 inch long plus 3/16 on end threaded
it is between 3/16 and 1/4 " thick
springlike coil on end is about 1 1/8 ' in diameter
dish washer is KitchenAid
model KUDI24SEWH2
have been to website and perused 12 pages of parts and cannot find it
only ordinary dinner and cookware (no gadgets) in it so strongly
suspect it must be a part of dishwasher

any clues appreciated

Do you own a steamer basket?
(one of those things that you put inside a pot and it has lots
of perforated "petals"?)

I can't view the picture. However, if you go to sears parts http://www3.sears.com/
and put in your model number you can view diagrams and part lists for
your machine. Or you can go to www.repairclinic.com and view the
actual parts for your machine but it won't tell you necessary where it
goes. This will only help if the part is from the dishwasher.

Just for the record, the link is better put as:
http://home.alltel.net/gno52/Photo%2012.jpg
(embedded spaces in file names can be quite a nuisance)
