Is color of generator important?

Hi,

For the past few months I have been working on a project trying to
find out what people feel about colors of the generators. My earlier
study show that we often associate human attribute with colors like
green genset is eco friendly, yellow color is associated with power
and reliability.

I want to maximise the response so that I can consumerate my project.

Given below is a link for all people who think that colors and company
brands are associated. If you think its not the case then you must
take this survey do help me get the correct picture.

Thanks and regards to all,

Mayank

Didn't you know that RED generators create better electricity?

The red excites the electrons and created a higher potential EMF.
The electrons are more willing to leave their co-valent bonding after
they see red...

True, but green makes all your neighbors envious that you have one

boy, do you deserve the noble prize for an outstanding discovery. and
I suppose black will block the electrons from leaving the genset. :-)

You guys have it all wrong!

For DC, you must apply the principle that "opposites attract". Best arrangement is *two* generators, a red one for negative
(to interface most efficiently with the black negative electrons) and black for positive (same concept but opposite
polarity).

For AC, you need a mixture of black and red = maroon. If you want one that pollutes less, maroon + green = brown.

Generator should be bright, light colors. Mine's black and I have to
grope for it in the dark when power is out ;(

Didn't think of that. Shouldn't it be painted radioactive neon, then?

Color is the LAST thing I look at when buying any equipment of that sort.
First I want reliability, cost to maintain, price etc.. Only if two
identically specced units were available for the same price would I actually
think much about color.

From a marketing aspect, color might make me see a particular brand first in
a store, or ads, but ... it's unimportant to me and most like me, since it
has nothing to do with the quality or reliability of a device. But then
again, my opinion of marketing types in general is pretty low, just a tad
above politicians and gummint critters, which are numbers 99 & 100.

Color is a silly aspect to make a buying decision on. Brand and reputation
is much more important.

I didn't know until recently; that DeWalt has a trademark, on the
yellow teeth paint on saw blades.

Come too think of it, I've never seen saw teeth blades painted, except
for the yellow ones.

The name of the game is SALES! And yes the color of a product is very
important. I've heard of some companies spending tons of money for research
to find the color(s) which will make their product sell the best.

Hint: Walk through the mens department (hardware, tools) and notice that red
is quite a common color.

Walk through the ladies department.

Go to an upscale ladies store and look at the colors used for products.

Etc.

Does that mean that those lime green & black colored tools are
marketed for women?

True, but only of multi-colored products. Branded colors, where the tools
are all the same color, as the OP references, it's much less important.
