Carpet advice

1. Does Lowes sell quality carpet and how does it compare versus the carpet
places that are usually located near shopping malls (like Carpet Land USA if
they still exist)? (Doesn't all carpet come from the same mills in Dalton
GA?)

2. What are some specific parameters that would indicate medium grade
carpet?

3. What would be a reasonable price for medium grade cut pile carpet, pad,
and installation?

Thanks!

Get a quality padding. You can get a cheap carpet, but skimping on
the padding is not good in the long run. Expect to pay $500 for a
small/medium room. Lowes and HD sell various grades of carpeting and
padding--with or without installation. Measure your room to get
square footage, then visit the stores to get estimates and selections.
You can feel and see the differences in cheap and expensive carpet.
You'll save $$$ by shopping around for the best value. Look at the
guarantee on material and installation too.
