Please Read Completely Before Attempting Any Step

1. Vacuum your pool and make sure it is clean and free of debris

2. If your pool is cloudy, shock your pool according to
manufacturers directions. Or take your water to the nearest pool
store for a water test

3. Adjust your pH level to 7.2 - 7.6 and chlorine level to 3 ppm. Note:
other sanitizing systems are treated differently. Example: Pristine
Blue, Baquacil.

4. Drain pool 4€³ - 6€³ below skimmer opening. (Some manufacturers
request different winter level. Check with manufacturer.)

5. Proceed to blow out underground lines with a compressor. Be careful
to check for any closed valves and/or check valves that can cause
stoppage of compressed air, and cause damage to you and/or your
equipment. When you are sure all water is removed from lines proceed to
plug them using winterizing plugs. You may always add anti-freeze to
the lines after blowing them out as an additional safety precaution. Be
very careful when using compressed air since plugs and other items can
become a dangerous projectile.

6. Now you can add your winterizing chemicals to your pool, following
instructions on package or with directions given to you by your local
pool company. If you have high mineral content or a concrete pool, be
sure to add an appropriate sequestering agent. (Stain & Scale
Preventative)

7. Remove pressure gauge and all plugs on filter and pump and set valve
into winterizing position

8. If you have a DE filter, disassemble it and hose off all remaining
DE and reassemble filter.

9. Remove all ladders and rails. You may also remove the diving board
or slide.

10. Install gizzmo(s) into skimmers (see your pool dealer for more
info)

11. Make one last final check of all plugs and be sure no air bubbles
are escaping from them. If so it will be necessary to blow lines with a
compressor again. This time tighten securely all plugs so that no air
is leaking.

12. When you are sure everything is done properly, you may now cover
the pool.

DONT PUMP OUT ALL THE WATER!

My realtives had a beautiful 40 foot in ground concrete pool.

Sold home new owners didnt follow that simple instruction and it pushed
up out of ground, ruined the deck and pool. It had to be broken up and
filled in

My uncle who built it was heartsick even though the home wasnt his any
longer.

High underground water pressure pushed it right up out of ground
