clear finishing surface over xypex

i have finished treating my basement floor with xypex (this is a
crystalline waterproofer like dry-lock). xypex has a rough texture when
it dries and ive heard may powder under foot traffic. i'm not shooting
for a smooth as glass floor, but i don't want it to feel like a grinder
wheel like it does now.

xypex also has a bit of an inconsistent look to it, which i like, so i
want to coat it with something clear. i prefer a dull finish, not
gloss.

according to the xypex website:
Can paint and other finishing materials be applied over a Xypex
coating?
Yes. Paint epoxy coatings, cement parge coats, plaster and stucco can
be applied or installed over a Xypex coating. For detailed
instructions, please refer to pp. 31 and 73 of the Xypex "Specification
and Application Manual"

can anyone with relevant experience make a suggestion for my further
research? the floor is about 300 sq/ft., decent venting, the area gets
medium foot traffic, but certain items may cause extra wear (sliding
chairs, work benches) and the floor will be largely uncovered.

much thanks.

Just a suggestion, but maybe a water based polyurethane floor finish
might work. It might be best to call customer service at Xypex and ask
that specific question. If they OK the idea, then there are some good
choices in the market for a nice looking job. HTH
