Review/recommendations for Solar Lights

I am looking to buy some solar lights to mark a path (with full
knowledge that they are not nearly as bright as wired lights).

It seems though that light brightness/duration and the quality of the
fixtures themselves (cheap plastic vs. thin coated metal vs. heavy
duty metal etc.) vary widely.

I have not been successful in finding any good quality reviews and
comparisons of alternative brands and models.

So does anybody know of any brands, models, retailers etc. that are
high quality and give state-of-the-art light output.

Thanks

blueman:

No specifics, sorry, but I will relate that my (ex-)landlord put a set
of solar lights in the front of the building, and was constantly
disappointed by how little light they gave, and for how long (short!) a
time in the evenings. Part of the problem was that the lights
themselves were pretty well shaded during sunlight hours by trees and
shrubs. But on at least one occasion, a light came "on" suddenly after
being splashed while watering in the early evening.

Guess I just posted this to reinforce that you should look for quality,
and also think about placement, when choosing these lights.

Best wishes with the project!
Jacque

Whatever you end up looking at more closely, see if there are ratings for
temperature vs. lighting time, if you live where it gets frosty.

As long a sthe sun gets at mine all day they go for most of the night.
As they get older they may not last as long as the nicads inside tend
to wear out. They can be replaced

anything with any reasonable specifications costs more than i want to
spend.
look carefully at the christmas/white LED strings in the wholesale club
and you will see some other ideas.
