Default Recessed Lights Make Popping Noise

Moved into a new house about 2 months ago, and the recessed or can
lights in the kitchen area make a popping noise. Have done several web
searches, but haven't been able to find an answer has to how to fix
this problem.

Just wondering is anyone might know what's causing the popping noise
and how to fix it.

Thanks

Some types of recessed trims, like "Halo" brand use two coil springs to keep
the trim against the ceiling and like Tony said, when the plastic ring heats
up, the expansion against a cool ceiling makes a tick or pop sound. In the
past, you could contact Halo, and they would send no charge, replacement
metal trims rings, which won't expand.
