Try stroking it repeatedly until the juice flows out. It should be nice and
soft after that.

For some folks their caulk never gets hard.
So it fails to perform to expectations.
In turn some handymen have caulk anxieties every time they use it.
I suggest learning how to use your caulk with different techniques to
compensate for these difficulties.
Perhaps changing your grip and holding it nearer to the tip will help.
Most folks caulk from the top.
Change position and try caulking the bottom, that may help, especially if
your caulk is harder than normal.
Also, having someone who is more experienced may help you improve your
technique.

Just some helpful tips for a happier and more satisfying caulking
experience.

Good luck.

Well first of all, how long is your caulk? Do you know how long it's been
unused? When you squeeze it, does it shoot out or just kind of dribble?
