Furnace vs. Air Handler
 

Does anyone know if a 100,000 BTU Furnace is significantly louder than
an Air Handler that would be required for a 3 Ton Condenser?

If they both move the same air volume through the same return then they
should be about the same.

Furnace only adds a heat exchanger usually below the A coil, some times
above.
