Default Blown fuse

What difference does it make? Did you get the point that you can kill
yourself even when it is unplugged?

I can kill myself getting out of the bathtub, but that doesn't mean I
won't take a shower.

OK, it's less likely, but did you ask how to avoid it?

If I ask a question about fuses on Usenet, getting the wrong answer
probably won't matter. I'm not about to trust information I get from
Usenet about how to avoid death, so why bother asking?

Puzzled the OP didn't ask the original 'fuse' question on an
'Electronics/scientific' repair group!

This group deals with home repair, which I thought was more

appropriate
than theoretical electronics. Also, my question wasn't specifically
about repairing electronics. I just wanted some information on fuses.

You can describe a fuse in a sentence or two. Where it is used does
make a difference in what there is to say about this.

I wasn't interested in how the fuse was used. I was interested in what
"5MF" meant. That would be the same for all applications.

And this group had ten times the number of posts as the other groups,
and I wanted a quick answer.

Who says the electronics group is only theoretical. The one I read is
not. And they do know more about electronics repair than the people
here.

frequest posts than the others.

(no offense, guys. They know more than I do, too.) It would
have been a better group for this question. Far more likely to know
what 5MF means, because there are so many more people there who deal
with glass fuses.

I didn't need more people. I just needed one.

Be careful! Hope the OP gets lucky with just replacing the fuse. But
as with anything fuses are there for reasons; which include

protection
of human health, safety and property!

I replaced the fuse, and ran it a few hours last night, and about four
hours today. No problems so far.

That's good. That might be the only problem.

Remove NOPSAM to email me. Please let
me know if you have posted also.

I notice this is your second post praising Bubba. Bubba is an obnoxious
idiot. Why do you suck up to him? Besides, he didn't answer the
question. He just put "5MF" into Google, and posted the resulting link.
Any moron could have done that, and apparently, one did.

So exactly what are you really complaining about Gregg?
The fact that a moron could type "5MF" in Google and you couldnt?
So if a moron could do it and you couldnt, what does that make you?
OR
are you whinnin because you have no friends to help your "cause"?
Are you that lonely? Do you need a computer buddy?
Man! It must really suck to be you.

Default Blown fuse

as you see, bubba had the answer for you posted in only 21 minutes. i
looked at my supplier websites first, came up empty, and then continued
google.com with more descriptive words to try and narrow it down.
i think the confusion began when bubba said

"Jesus H Christ!
http://www.belfuse.com/Data/DBObject/5MF.pdf

and everybody who read it thought it was a link to Jesus website.
5MF is clearly described as the fuse type on that linked page.
