Furnace Shuts Down - Power Cycle Restarts
Hey Guys,
My friend has a gas fired forced hot air furnace mounted in her attic (a cold place). She tends to shut it off during the day while she's at work. A few days ago, she turned it on and it ran normally for around 30-45 minutes and then completely shut off. This was over 10 degrees from the stat set point. She says that left alone, it does not turn back on, however, if she shuts it off at the stat, then turns it back on, it will fire right back up and run for another 30 minutes or so. Basically, to keep it running, she has to cycle power at the stat every time it shuts down. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks Much! |

Hi, How about fetching error code first when it shuts down? Good luck, Tony |

Maybe the limit switch is activating due to an overheated furnace and locking it out? Is the filter clean?
