Silver Soldering IS brazing. Unless you are talking about a low
temperature silver bearing solder like Stay-Brite #8, which is just soldering. Different brazing allows melt at different temperatures, from about 1200 degrees to about 1700 degrees F. NOTE: Do NOT use the stick silver bearing brazing rods that contain phosphorous (like 6% or 15%) when brazing anything to STEEL.. It will form a brittle joint that will eventually break under stress. Use 35% to 50% silver bearing brazing allows that have no phosphorous instead. Stretch |
