Aprilaire 700 running? Don't know.

New unit installed Tuesday. There is still no sign of it working. When
you turn the knob to test, the green light flashes and you can hear the
soleniod energize. This means it's working according to Aprilaire tech.
It is getting water supply in and out of the solenoid.Loosened the
compression fittings and inlet and outlet dripped ok but the media
panel is bone dry, never been wet.
The red led to indicate a mis wiring job is off and the fan, which is
plugged into a separate powered outlet has never come on,even with the
settings turned to maximum or on test setting.
Also a good test if it is working is to see water coming out of the
condensate drain which is bone dry also.
All connections on humidistat look correct according to the
installation manual.
The humidity in the house reads a stedy 35%.
I would feel better if only the powered fan came on.
Thanks for any insight on this confusing matter.
Steve.

"It is getting water supply in and out of the solenoid.Loosened the

There are three things not right here.

First, after water leaves the solenoid, it only goes through a short
tube right to the top of the water panel. On the test setting, the
solenoid should be energized and water should be coming out of the
drain line. You say you here the solenoid energize, but no water
shows up? Not sure on your particular model, but on my 760 there is
a small filter screen on the inlet side of the solenoid and a small
plastic restrictor with a hole in it to limit the water flow on the
outlet side of the solenoid. Either of these could be plugged, though
they shouldn't be in a new unit. If you investigate this, be aware
that to take the filter screen out generally requires using an ice
pick, which will destroy it. The flow restrictor can be removed and
replaced without damage. Both these parts are only a couple bucks, are
available online and are maintenance items you should have anyway.

Second problem is in the test position, the fan should also be running.
What did Aprilaire tech support say about this?
Did you verify power to the outlet? Verify that all connections are
good, housing is closed correctly, etc?

Third problem is any tech that installed one of these and didn't see a
problem with no water running out and the fan not on in the test
position is incompetent.

I'd investigate some more and then call Aprilaire tech support again if
necessary.

Trad I do agree. Thanks for all the help here.
Contractor is coming back out Wed to install the outdoor temp probe
that was not offered as an install option in the beginning. The main
selling point of the unit.
Thanks.
