Article on precisely that subject in last issue of Fine Homebuilding -
Nov 05, No. 174

Easy way these days is the AAV -- air-admittance valve.

Scroll down to Island Sink venting

In the end, the inspector has the final say so
on what is accepted in your town/city/state.

vent up to a 45 then to a 90 then to a 45 aiming down (Get all this as

high as possible under counter) then pipe down from 45 under floor and up a
wall and out the roof. You could pipe up to a 90 pointed horizontal then to
a 90 pointed down pipe from there under floor over to wall and up. If you
tie into an existing vent you must make your connection 6" above flood rim
of sink ( top of sink)
