Default how is this AIRLESS ELECTRIC SPRAY PAINTER for outdoor fence painting?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...y=41 991&rd=1

this auction guy claims it is as good as the WAGNER brand one of
similar size , which I saw a demo on HSN TV.. looked pretty good

can I use this with oil based paint.

or an alternate question? how can I tell if any airless painter can be
used with OIL and water based?

how is this product

That is like saying cow turds are as good a horse turds. The Wagner is a
piece of crap, IMO. Tried using mine twice and had poor results.

Read the instructrions/specifications.

I am not aware of any manufacture that says use only one type of paint. Oil
based is much harder to clean. That is why I use latex out side.

I do not like the little sprayers, the tanks do not hold enough to paint
very long or much. The hand held models do work fine for doing patio
furniture, and small areas.

Check you local rental house and see what it will cost to rent a sprayer for
the time you will need.

I've a basic wagner sprayer. Works okay (MUCH better than brush) with
oil-based stains. AFAIK for higher viscosity than the relatively thin
stains, forget it.

Wagner says you can spray latex paint, if you add their special thinner
and use special spray nozzle. An experiment for you, if you wish.

For $20 the thing could be considered disposable. Use whatever paint you
want and throw it away when you are done. Never can clean those things well
enough anyway.

A friend got a side job painting 200' of 6' high fence. He bought a Wagner
to do the job. He burned up 2 of them before he finished. When one would
stop working he would take it back the box store and get another one. When
he was done with the job he returned the third one for a refund. They are
junk.
My next door neighbor painted his house with one (or two or three, I don't
know) He worked on it every Sat. and Sun. for a month and a half. The noise
of the thing drove me out of my house every weekend.
Get a real one.

Wagner is a POS. Get a Graco, and do it right. You will spend more time
working on the Wagner than actually painting.

Thanks for all the feedback.. here is what I went through .
Had to paint around 300 sqft.. got this unit... started it.. was
vibrating a lot.. and makes a strange noise.. but did work
satisfactorily.( as long as the stain is thin. ). It did start getting
warm /hot.
( FYI they enclose a small funnel and it is mentioned that the ideal
paint should flow out of it in 10-12 secs. .so that rules out any
thick/ oil paint- also it is specifically mentioned not to use with
latex)
on the 3rd Quart.. around 40% of my fence , it broke DOWN... looks
like it overheated..
complained to the seller he refunded me 8$ out of 17$
completed the fence with a 4$ stain brush.
I think I;ll stay away from the cheaper ones. but I can atleast say
that, the portion of the fence which is spray painted is more even than
the hand painted one. and was done faster.
