But it does give you an interesting color. |

Jeff If you use deck stains with silica based aditives or polymers, you then can never paint your deck when it eventually looks like ****, again, and again, every year, like clockwork. You'd have to sand off completely the top surface to get paint to stick. I agree, avoid silicone like the plague, it will cause all subsequent coats to "fisheye", and even sanding may not eliminate the problem. Between Cabot and Olympic, Cabot is better, IMO. You can boost the performance of any oilstain by adding a little pure tung oil or linseed oil.-Jitney |
