Default Hotpoint NVLR333E heater coils

i have a dryer that keeps melting the heater coils. it works fine for a
couple of loads, then melts the coils in half. also, the timer doesn't
work. is this a problem with the timer or the thermostat? what do i
need to check?

Wonder if it's wired to wrong amperage or something ? Sure as h***
would not use it til I got some answers.
