hardwood floors

I just moved from a carpeted apartment to an all hardwood floor home. It's
great and I'm really excited, but I'm trying to figure out how to keep the
dust bunnies under control. I've been told to use a slightly damp mop, but
that just makes things kind of gummy. Any advice?

Agreed -- one of the small, cheap canister vacs is all you need.
Regular vaccuuming to get up any grit off the floor will help them
stay shiny. I wipe up mud tracks or spills with paper towels and only
damp-mop the whole floor a couple times a year.

We have hardwood floors and dogs, so the dust bunnies are pretty hairy.
I've started using a robotic vacuum called the Roomba to keep things
clean. It works pretty well and now I don't feel like I am constantly
trying to keep things clean.
