Mice in the house
 

Is there any way to deter mice from coming in a house (besides cats - we
have four of them)? Also, how do we get rid of the mice already in the
house? Thanks.

They will not come in if there is no entrance.

Had mice in the attic, and they will climb up the brick and find a hole along
the roofline.

Nothing beats the good old Victor snap trap. The best bait is a fresh raisin,
crushed onto the bait pan. They can't tug it off without springing the trap.

a) get a few outdoor cats
b) find, and plug, the openings that the mice are using to get in
c) stop leaving food for the mice -- this includes any human or pet food in
any container that a mouse can chew through
d) live with the problem.

Well, he's right.

Go pay for an energy audit where you get a blower door test done. Not
only will you be warmer the next winter, but you'll have found and
plugged all the holes that the mice get in.

Ok, thats overkill. But it worked for me. Havent seen a mouse all
winter and I used to be plagued by them. Found some pretty big holes
too.

Or start laying traps all over the house. After a while you should
see a pattern as to where the mice are trapped. Then concentrate your
traps near there until you isolate the area where they get it.
