I am interested in purchasing a coffee brewing systems. What are the
current ideas on Keurig vs Tassimo vs. Flavia systems vs. any other
system?

Personally, I wouldn't buy any of these one-shot coffee makers. I really
like the enhanced aroma of freshly ground coffee -- no pre-ground coffee
(in packets or otherwise) for me.

Last time I checked, espresso is coffee. And at least the Tassimo,
the only one I'm familiar with, will make espresso.

As for the coffee being more important than the brewing system, I would
agree with that. However, that doesn't mean that all brew systems
produce equal quality coffee. Most serious coffee folks swear by using
a French press. And personally, I think they do make a better cup of
coffee than you can get out of a std drip coffee maker.

I don't think it's elite to think that someone considering high end
brewing machines, many of which can make a variety of coffee beverages,
would be interested in espresso. If you think espresso is elite, you
obviously won't know much about high end brew systems. Maybe you
should stick to instant coffee.

brewing machines, many of which can make a variety of coffee beverages,
would be interested in espresso. If you think espresso is elite, you

Where did he say "high-end"?

He said single-cup systems.

Those are anything but "high-end".

For the most part they use very ordinary coffee, likely stale.

What is "high-end" about any of that?


Like everything else, it's defined as high-end by price. These systems
sell for $169-200+, when you can buy a Mr. Coffee for $25




It's the latest coffee fad,
but, unless you like Folger's supermarket coffee, you would NOT find
them to be "high-end".
