Heat pumps blowing ambient air temperature?

II have a 3 year old 5 ton Bryant heat pump. For some reason it blow
out outside ambient air temperature for about 30 minutes after it has
gone through its' defrost cycle. This condition occurs both in a/c
mode and heating mode. Is there something wrong with my unit or it
takes this long before cooled air blows out in A/C mode or heated air
in heating mode.

There is a very active group, alt.hvac, that would be a better place
to post your question. It is visited by IMHO many professionals that
are happy to answer consumer questions. Two years back we used it as
a resource in the replacement of our AC and furnace system. I really
feel that they saved us several thousands of dollars by not making
foolish decisions. ie - We were hellbent on changing over to a 2 zone
2 unit system, which several local contractors were happy to install.
In the end we went with the recommendations from several on "alt.hvac"
for a 2 zone 1 unit system, with automatic flues, and have not been
happier.
