Experiences with sunrooms?

My husband and I are considering adding a sunroom to our house, and
have looked at Four Seasons as well as Betterliving Sunrooms. I was
wondering what people's experiences, good or bad, have been with these
2 companies. Thanks.

Hello, I've not built one or used those companies but have some friends
who looked into this and are considering building this spring. My
caveat is that there's a lot of variability in price, and quality, and
that some of the companies that do work like this are very hard-sell.
The pricing seemed very high compared to what you actually get. I
would get more than one quote and also get references and check the BBB
(though the BBB is mostly just a shill for businesses). Also buy an
hour of time from a lawyer and have him/hre read the contract for
problems.

Here's a review of the company called Four Seasons in the city nearest
me, from Angie's List, this is an example of how bad things can go:

EACH PHASE WAS DONE BY A DIFFERENT CONTRACTOR. WE WERE NEVER TOLD WHEN
ONE PHASE WOULD END AND ANOTHER WOULD BEGIN. WE HAD PARTICULARLY HUGE
PROBLEMS WITH SUBCONTRACTOR HIRED TO REMOVE EXISTING SCREENED IN PORCH
AND CONCRETE AND INSTALL NEW CONCRETE. HE WAS FREQUENTLY LATE, DIDN'T
SHOW UP WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD AND WOULDN'T CALL TO LET US KNOW. IT TOOK
SO LONG WE HAD THREE NEIGHBORS SPONTANEOUSLY OFFER US REFERRALS FOR
OTHER CONTRACTORS. WE HAD WATER IN THE BASEMENT SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE
THE CONCRETE SLAB WAS MISSING SO LONG. HE ALSO REMOVED THE EXISTING
SIDEWALK AND FENCE AND THEN REFUSED TO REPLACE IT. FOUR SEASONS
EVENTUALLY BROUGHT IN ANOTHER CONTRACTOR TO FINISH THIS WORK. BEFORE
AGREEING TO THE WORK THE ORIGINAL COMPUTER GENERATED PLANS SHOWED A
HIGHER CEILING THAN WHAT WAS EVENTUALLY INSTALLED BY NEARLY A FOOT.
EVERY TIME IT RAINS AND THEN FREEZES, THE SLIDING GLASS DOOR STILL
FREEZES SHUT. WATER FREEZES IN THE GUTTER AND DRIPS OVER THE DOOR AND
FREEZES THERE AS WELL.

Forgot to mention, sunrooms are typically 20-25K in the midwest.

Thanks for this info, it was helpful. I think we are so far leaning a
little more towards Betterliving than Four Seasons - I have one other
reference wherein the person had contractor problems w/Four Seasons.
