How do you get a tv deemed " irrepairable" ?

I'm following up on a posting from a few weeks ago...The 3 week old
Samsung that stopped working. We have now owned the tv for 79 days ,out
of the 79 days it has worked for 25 days, the rest of the time it's
been in and out of service centers. We have tried returning it ..but
unless Samsung and the service center deems it " irrepairable" they
won't touch it! Samsung won't help until it's deemed " irrepairable".
Because it comes on once a week for a day or two they think it must
have been repaired and can be fixed again! There is only 1 service
center to go through in Houston so every other week we have to call and
put in for service again. I'm so disgusted with the support from
Samsung I don't know what I can do! I'm about to leave it on the curb
and let some other poor soul handle it! If anyone has any ideas on what
I can do to try and get a working tv I would greatly appreciate it!

Each of the manufactures have their own policy for warranty returns. The
only thing that can supersede their policy is the law of the land where they
are selling their products. With most of the big name brand sets, if the set
is returned for warranty service more than 3 times within the one year
period, the customer gets a new set.

A set is normally not serviceable, when there are no longer parts viable to
service it, or that there are so many faults, that the cost of servicing it
is not feasible.

In the case of your set, the service contractor is getting paid each time
your set goes in to them for service. Some of these contractors are not too
concerned about the customer's feelings. What you should do, is make a copy
of all the service records (receipts) for the repairs. Then send these
copies to Samsung directly, and then wait for their response. You can also
try to sent them an email.

Sure; go back to the retailer who sold it to you and scream bloody murder!

If it's a chain, ask for the name and phone numbers of the District Manager
and the Regional Manager. Call them and tell them how unhappy you are.

Contact Marvin Zindler, you'll get a new set.

Or for some real satisfaction, take it down to the service center and
toss it (after accidentally slipping, of course) thru the biggest plate
glass window you can find. ;-) Or you could just drop it in the
service center. After the implosion, it will probably be deemed
"irreparable".

If the store offers cash refunds within a certain period of time...
Go to the store where you bought it and buy the identical TV in cash.
Put the broken TV in the box from the new one.
Go back the next day and get your money back.
Continue to do this each time it breaks for as long as they sell the
same model. This is called "extended warranty!"

Why do you think they write the serial number on the invoice?

It is also called fraud, which over here would cost you more than any
TV.

If the store isn't receptive to your reasonable requests for a
replacement set (esp. given it's history) simply set up a table
outside the store with your faulty set on it and tell your story to
every one going in the shop. - You'll soon get the manager's undivided
attention.

For the sake of your cause and freedom - DO NOT be abusive or harass
people. Stay calm and be accurate with your facts.

good luck.

that's strange, stores around here have to give you a replacement with
no questions asked if you feel there is something wrong with in 30 days
of purchase. in other words, they do not send yours out to the service
center in that time frame, they give you another one.
