MP3 players, need some general info please

Hi- Does anyone know approximately how many songs an MP3 player with
64MB of internal memory can hold, assuming the average song is about 5
minutes long ? I know there are players with much more memory these
days. This makes me wonder if an MP3 with 64MB is considered a good
one these days. Any opinions are appreciated.

Last time I fiddled around with MP3 on a PC, I seem to recall a rate of
something like 1Mb/min. I may be wrong.

Note that part of a memory device is occupied by the file system itself
and isn't available to the user.

Cheers

Sounds pretty small. ISTR 512 Mb for ram and 20 Gb for HD models being
normal.

I've just checked up on this - an MP3 track of 4:26 minutes comes out at
4.1Mb.

So, you've got about an hour on there. As NSM says, that ain't a lot;
look at listings for these things on eBay - they're coming out at 256Mb+.

64Mb may be worth while if you can get it for just a buck...
