MP3 players, need some general info please
Hi- Does anyone know approximately how many songs an MP3 player with
64MB of internal memory can hold, assuming the average song is about 5 minutes long ? I know there are players with much more memory these days. This makes me wonder if an MP3 with 64MB is considered a good one these days. Any opinions are appreciated. Bill |

ISTR 512 Mb for ram and 20 Gb for HD models being normal. N |

Last time I fiddled around with MP3 on a PC, I seem to recall a rate of something like 1Mb/min. I may be wrong. Note that part of a memory device is occupied by the file system itself and isn't available to the user. Cheers M I've just checked up on this - an MP3 track of 4:26 minutes comes out at 4.1Mb. So, you've got about an hour on there. As NSM says, that ain't a lot; look at listings for these things on eBay - they're coming out at 256Mb+. 64Mb may be worth while if you can get it for just a buck... |
