Thompson BD20TF10

(chassis # TVC809COMBO)

Hi;

Thought it was going to be an easy one, other guy fixed it for a spill
but noticed retrace lines when playing it afterward. Only occurs on
certain scenes. There is a slight haze and retrace lines only in what I
would call the second quadrant of the screen (horizontally).

Thought I had an easy one, the G2 cap right ? WRONG. Jumped in another
cap, no good. Scoped the 220V line and it has less than a volt of
ripple.

Turning down the G2 helps just a bit, but not enough, the lines still
come back on certain scenes.

Got no print for this one, nor do I have any big hopes of getting one.
Any ideas ?

Also, how do you get into the service menu on these. I don't think this
fault is dangerous and I might reluctantly try to adjust it out. If I
can get the pedestal high enough and the G2 low enough without video
flaring I'm willing to send it out like that. This is not a high dollar
repair and I don't need days into it.

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance.

JURB
