Question on Mitsubishi TV

A friend of mine has a Mits CR2014R TV. She wanted to buy a CD player so
we bought her a DVD player to get the best of both worlds. CDs AND DVDs.
The problem is that the DVD is connected to the external rca plugs as per
normal, but when a CD or DVD is played, the volume control on the TV has
no effect. On the back of the TV is a button that turns the speakers on
or off. I'm not so sure what this button is for...

Anyhow, my problem is that we can't change the output volume levels of the
DVD player to the TV so the volume is always too loud.

Any ideas would be welcome.

You probably connected them to the variable outputs. Connect tothe A/V
audio input.
