Default Sennheiser RS85 Wireless Headphones

I got this item after doing a bit of research. I was looking for RF
wireless first and audio quality second. These are adequate in both
areas but they have a very aggressive automatic level control. When
listening to the FM radio or the TV, it's not a problem because those
sources are already processed to "appear" loud all the time. But when
I listen to CDs or MP3s, the wider dynamic range of the source is
"adjusted" by the headphones. This is rather annoying to say the
least.

Has anyone come up with any mods to reduce this effect or even to
disable the ALC completely?
