Philips L01.2E chassis common faults

I have a Philips 17PT1666 using a L01.2E chassis which has a problem
with the remote control.

Simply the TV has stopped detecting the signals from the remote. It
failed under warranty, the repair shop had it for 11 weeks and changed
just about everything associated with IR reception and fixed it. Now,
nine months later and well out of warranty, it has suddenly stopped
receiving again.

The remote works perfectly with another Philips TV (CP90 chassis.)

Anyone know anything about this and/or how to fix it - properly.

Looks like a ir-reciever has gone, it's mostly 1 part like the tsop-series,
simple 3 wires de- and soldering on the pcb.
Another problem could be the 5V powersupply or the microcontroller in the
tv-set.

Greetings Peter
