Sony CCD-SC55 door won't close
 

Hi,

I suspect this is an uncommon enough model that it is not likely
to find others with it. Nor have I been able to dig up a seervice
manual (yet...).

The "door" (mechanism?) does not want to close. Is this a
purely *mechanical* problem? Or, is there, perhaps, a
failed switch (which could, perhaps, be expected to operate the
mode motor?)

D*mn thing is so *tiny* you can barely *see* inside it -- let alone
try to *work* on it! :-/
