MONITOR 17''

I have a monitor 17 '' CRT.
When i use it for many hours I see that the image begins to tremble. I have
tried the function DEGAUASS but nothing has happened.
Now the problem is very important, because now the image begins to tremble
so strongly that I can't use my monitor because the imge doesn't want to
stay firm. This isn't safe to my eyes!
Can somebody halp me?
Have somebody an idea to resolve my problem?
Some body tells me that my monitor is demagnetize and that is impossible
rapair it.
Tanks and sorry for my imperferct English

Request Make, Model, and Chassis of offending monitor. That way it maybe
possible to recommend proper service procedures other than taking item to a
service facility.

It looks like the degaussing coils receive some power. If it has a relay
that activates them, check that the contacts are not welded together.
Otherwise check the PTC.

Sorry, but I'm a beginner. How can I identify the relay?
And what's the PTC?
Thank you

There might be a fan or other piece of equipment near the monitor creating
a magnetic field that is affecting the deflection.
Next time you see the trembling in the image, see if you can move the monitor
or the offending equipment away from each other.

I've tried to mive the monitor but nothing's happened.
Near the monitor there are only two speaker of the system CREATIVE INSPEIRE
5100 and the support of a cordless mouse.
Now im'using an old 14'' CRT monitor and everything is ok.
Why?
Is the 17'' monitor more sensible then the 14?
Thank

It should not be.

If the monitors are both CRTs, (not LCDs, for example) I expect there is
an intermittent deflection problem in the 17" monitor.

If the problem was electromagnetic interference, as I had originally
suspected, the effect seen on your 17" monitor would have changed as
you moved it.

Does the 14" monitor have a similar issue when it is placed very near
the speakers and support for the cordless mouse?

If so, I still suspect electromagnetic interference. If not, I suspect
a deflection problem in the 17" monitor.
