SONY PLASMA PROBLEM

The unit turns on and then goes into StandBy Mode.

SONY PFM-42B1

Any ideas on what might be causing this and if this is a major costly repair
or not.

Count the number of times the led flashes.
If it does 6 flashes between pauses the write it off.
