RCA T.V. problem!!

Got a CTC 177 chassis, fixed two horizontal
width problems, 2-bad capacitors, now when
changing channels, etc, or on "EEPROM
programming" mode...the display "rolls"!
Ideas?? T.V. is fine otherwise!

Check and reflow solder joints of inline tuner module, especially those for the
ground shielding.

A rolling picture is one indication of cold joints within the module.

Continued use of the set with this condition will permanently damage the
EEPROM, so it is strongly advised that this problem is checked out and fixed
before using this set again.

Be advised that EEPROM replacement or service menu adjustments might still be
necessary after the repair if the set will still not operate properly. The
data contents of the EEPROM can be corrupted, which can cause a slew of
problems in of themselves. - Reinhart
