Default How Do I Find Digital TV Channel Numbers

For my area (Los Angeles) I can find a list of HDTV channels he
https://pastebin.com/hX3dA3t1

Here is a sample of this list:
5. {"alias": ["ASPiRE TV", "ASPIRE"], "ch_num": "185", "epg_id": "", "id": "69046426"},
6. {"alias": ["AYM Sports", "AYM"], "ch_num": "962", "epg_id": "", "id": "69026782"},
7. {"alias": ["ActionMAX HDTV (West)", "AMXHDW", "ActionMax East"], "ch_num": "533", "epg_id": "18433", "id": "69031879"},
8. {"alias": ["American Heroes Channel HDTV", "AHCHD", "American Heroes Channel"], "ch_num": "140", "epg_id": "18284", "id": "334443188"},
9. {"alias": ["Animal Planet HDTV (West)", "APHD", "Animal Planet"], "ch_num": "132", "epg_id": "57394", "id": "69045207"},
10. {"alias": ["Atreseries", "ATRES"], "ch_num": "926", "epg_id": "", "id": "1270914130"},

I am specifically interested in the ID entries such as 69046426 on the first line above.
What I want is these channel IDs for both HDTV and SDTV and I want to be able
to represent them as in this list:

69022205 kpbs-hdtv 50.1
69022348 knbc-hdtv 4.1
69022154 kabc-hdtv 7.1
69022680 kcal-hdtv 9.1
69022186 kttv-hdtv 11.1
69022684 kcop-hdtv 13.1
69028930 kpxn-hdtv 30.1
69022784 ktla-hdtv 5.1
69050084 kcet-hdtv 28.1
69022168 kcbs-hdtv 2.1

69026103 kcbs-sd 2.2

I got the final entry in this list by a brute force search
that took several hours.

I am only interested in over-the-air channels. I have tried googling for
everything I could think of but I have had no success. I would appreciate
any help.

Thanks.

Thanks for responding Jeff, but as I said in my original post, I
need the "Channel" numbers for each station.

FYI, these are used to schedule recording of OTA programs using the
PVR software I posted some time ago in alt.os.linux.slackware.
That software turns a hdhomerun (under $100) device into a cable
cutting video recorder.

The Wikipedia URL has the channels. However, to get the sub-channels,
you have to fish them out of the "Notes" column. Unless some station
gets creative, the sub-channel numbers should be the same on the RF
channel and on any translator. Also, to the best of my understanding,
if a station is capable of transmitting DTV using ATSC encoding, it is
also capable of transmitting HDTV (usually in the form of MPEG-4 AVC.
It may choose not to do so for some reason, but in theory, all DTV
stations can belch HDTV.

Most metro areas in the US has some video fanatic that maintains a
current and up to date directory of what the various TV stations are
doing. With spectrum reallocation and incentive auctions, such a list
is needed unless you want to scan for changes regularly. No clue who
does that for Smog Angeles.

Thanks for responding. When I posted my original cry for help I thought the
numbers I was looking for were related to frequency or FCC or something
like that. I have since learned that the numbers have no such meaning,
they are assigned by ontvtonight.com to distinquish directory listings
for the various channels. I was looking for a FREE source of schedule
information for OTA channels and I needed these numbers to fetch the
(daily) schedule for each desired channel. I welcome suggestions for
any online source of schedule information.

For the purpose of cord-cutting it would be desirable to be able to
read schedule information from the OTA signals themselves or from
a dedicated OTA channel. Right now my (homemade) PVR reads the next
day's schedule at 12:01 am.

Tivo has an inexpensive OTA DVR that includes a guide/scheduler but they
charge a monthly fee for it's use. There might be a way to access that
meta data without a DVR like Tivo's, but I think you would have to be
dedicated

I just use titantv.com for program info and set an old school DVR to
record manually.

You may want to check www.tvfool.com for a list of stations that you should be able to get by your address.

www.titantv.com I use for a "TV guide". No idea about available API.

A "TSID", "Transport Stream ID" is arbitrary, but it's assigned in consecutive pairs by the FCC.
A "TSID" has to be unique per geographic area, e.g tuner.

The TSID is assigned to the analog channel.

If I added my own channels via a modulator, I'd have to assign a TSID that did not already exist in my general area. This gives the "set-top-box"/tuner a way to uniquely identify a channel.

So, I think the TSID along with the minor channel number identifies a unique tuner channel. Channel 3.1 in Philadelphia and Channel 6.2 in LA would definately have a different TSID and minor channel number.

If I add modulated channels to the channels seen by the TV, I need to assign a TSID that is unique so the tuner has a unique identifier for every digital channel.

The call letters to light TV is KCOP, not KTTV. Found that out real quick; especially, after watching a program on that channel a year ago.
