Hitachi ProLogic Horizontal green line at the center of screen
Hi there,
We have 24" Hitachi prologic about 4 years old. It just last week, the picture disappeard but the sound is as normal. The screen went blank and horizontal green line appear at the center. After a while it goes back to normal and then blank again. But since few days, it never goes back to normal. Is there any quick fix that you can do with this ? I almost make decision to advertise this for 1p or may just bin it, but the sound is excellent. For now, it still in our room cause we haven't decided what to do next. Regards, Thomas |

If you kept running it with the line across it, it might be better to bin it
since the phosphor in the tube is probably permanently burned. Otherwise the tv has a loss of vertical deflection, the vertical circuit needs troubleshot and repaired. Not usually a super expensive repair if you take the tv into the service shop. David "Thomas" wrote in message om... Hi there, We have 24" Hitachi prologic about 4 years old. If you ran it for long like that though you might have a line burned into the tube in which case the whole set is junk. Whenever a TV starts acting up *always* shut it off and unplug it immediatly. |
