DVI module in JVC projector (DxxWPxx) series has light sensor!
To Jerry, I remembered your doubts about this eye in the DVI module
also for others in this service field, As stated in the nesda ohio's warning about these DVI module commit sucide (by blanking out DVI's eeprom if allowed powered with back panel removing or removed with power still connected. JVC stated very clearly this module is not covered under warranty and costs 200 to replace that small box. Red circled is the light sensor. http://www3.sympatico.ca/jpero/mixed...eupdvi_eye.jpg My solution: *Unplug* power cord JVC projector *first* and proceed get back panel off and locate that small tin box (DVI module), unplug all wires to it (usually three). Operate as usual for throubleshooting. The jumper method works as outlined in nesda's. Remember to unplug that power for projector first before reconnecting those plugs to that DVI module or moving jumper to default position. Don't plug back in till back panel is firmly screwed in. I already warned about this to both boss and my coworker. Cheers, Wizard |
