Newbie question, 3M LCD projector shows computer screen during
Hi eklf,
Sounds like the LCD projector does not like the highter screen resolution that is switched to when windows boots up. Try changing your screen resolution one setting at a time until you find the max. Start with 640 x 480 and go up from there. Good luck -- Tony Marsillo Nutmeg Repair ----------------------------------------------------------------- wrote in message om... NNTP-Posting-Host: 152.19.35.119 Message-ID: Hello All, I am new to this so if my question is really dumb, my apologies! I just bought a used 3M MP8650 LCD projector. It powers up well, and projects a blue screen. When connected to my PC ( Dell Dimension /NVidea card/XP)via VGA cable, the screen remains blank. Changing the input setting does not change. Interestingly, when the PC is booting up the projector projects the PC screen very well (ie..the Windows logo while booting)..however, the moment the login screen comes on..the orohected image goes back to blue. My best suspicions are that either I dont have a driver..or the projector is incompatible with XP. Could connecting the PC via s-video cable help (my video card has TV out)? Has anyone faced a similar problem? Can anyone point me the right direction? Thanking you all very much in advanced! eklf |

Newbie question, 3M LCD projector shows computer screen during
Hi,
A good samaritan emailed me with the solution. Apparently, all I needed to do was to change the screen resolution...from 1024 X 768 to 640 X 480...and that did the job. Thanks! |

Newbie question, 3M LCD projector shows computer screen during
I've got a (possibly) related problem: when I use the composite video-out on
my ATI Rage Pro mobile card with a video monitor, the TV screen displays the desktop and most programs fine (within the limits of its resolution); but video from Windows Media Player do not display. Other video programs display an image, however. Media Player merely shows the frame, with black where the video should be. When I select 'full screen' display, I just get a black screen...although the mouse cursor is visible. Is there a setting I can use which will solve this problem, or is Media Player useless for this? jak wrote in message om... Newbie question, 3M LCD projector shows computer screen during
Its a problem with your overlay settings.. It should be in the setup for you
video card, but I'm not familar with ati cards.. I buy Nvidia... ; ) But you should be able to change it by right clicking on your desktop click properties and then click the settings tab then click the advanced button... then you shuld find something like ati rage settings or somethin else to that effect. You will need to find setting that pretain to overlay... This is your problem.. Your card may not have this config menu which i am talking about, but if i remeber right it does, it is all driver specific. Hope that helps you some - Mike Kennedy "jakdedert" wrote in message ...
