Thermostat Question
Hello,
I have just purchased an electronic programmable thermostat. The old one that I had was the old dial type. Anyway, here is the problem... I installed it and for some reason every once in a while both the heater and the air conditioner will come on. This is a dangerous situation since I think that it will cause carbon monoxide. I'm a newbe with electronics and I'm not sure what to do. I have installed two separate electronic models thinking that it was the thermostat. Here is my setup: Gas Heater / electric air conditioner / unknown models. 5 wires coming from the wall. I think that they are white, yellow, blue, red, and BROWN???? The previous model has been thrown away, but I do remember a small like jumper type wire connecting two of the pins inside of the thermostat.I don't know what the brown wire is though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
Thermostat Question
Don't you have the pamphlet that came with the unit? It should indicate or give
you all the wiring instructions and what connects to what. If you don't, then I'll suggest you contact the manufacturer for the proper wiring instructions. |
Thermostat Question
Yes, I do have the pamphlet but it doesn't talk about the jumper or
the brown wire. On 16 Feb 2004 03:29:06 GMT, (L1ange bleu) wrote: Don't you have the pamphlet that came with the unit?
