Sony cam CCDV800 dew indicator blinking
 

Hi,

11 years ago I bought Sony CCD-V800. Was perfect for sevaral years. Tried to
use it summer 2002, no go. Dew indicator was blinking and camcorder had all
functions blocked by the control circuit. Thanks to my friend, over a year
ago, instead of repair I was able to aquire identical one and working, very
cheap. Finally, I could playback all my tapes. Guess what... after not using
it for few months it developped identical issue. Now I have 2 cams, both
with dew indicator on, non functioning although they power up no problem.
Both cams are in excellent shape and both developped this problem after
extended time of non-use. Both were working perfectly.

As far as I know this is an issue with some of the earlier Hi8 Sony cams.
Can anyone help with regard to troubleshooting/repair? I know this issue is
covered in service manual as well as EURAS (google search).
Could anyone say what the problem is, why both cams all of a sudden... ,
what is the remedy?
