technics sc-hd60

hi,
i'va a problem with my technics sc-hd60 hifi equipment.
immediately after power on, the cd player starts running and a function
called "ai edit" is active.
"ai edit " is for copying cd to tape automtically.
while "ai edit" is active there is no chance to stop the cd player or switch
to tuner or do anything else except switching power off.
with cd player disconnected , everything work normal.
perhaps anybody has an idea, or has a service manual for the technics
sl-hd60 ( cd modul ) and the technics st-hd60 ( tuner modul with cpu
inside )?

thanks a lot

Does the cd player have a separate lead from the main/amp unit
connected to its remote control socket?
sounds like the lead may have become loose or is not making contact or
the plug is not pushed fully in, if so.

if this is not the case it sounds like the logic is faulty or possibly
the AC rectifier. I say take it to a tech for a proper evaluation, as
a new Technics system is unlikely to exceed the cost of the repair. If
you dont know what you`re doing you could screw things up more and
render a simple problem into a real expensive mess.good luck, Ben
