SONY CCD-TR93 Wont accept Tape

I have here a SONY CCD-TR93
That will not accept a tape.
if i close the door without a tape it closes down fine.
But with a Tape in it, it just sits there and spins the
head drum really fast.

Anyone run into a similar one like this before?
